Charming experience with fantastic views
I recently stayed in a double room with a river view and was captivated by the quirky charm of the property. The room was well-appointed and comfortable, and the breakfast provided a delicious variety of local produce that set the tone for the day. The central location allowed easy exploration of Dartmouth, making every outing enjoyable.

Staying at The Royal Castle Hotel in Dartmouth was a mixed bag for me. The location right in the heart of Dartmouth made exploring so easy. My room had a lovely river view, which I appreciated. The bed was huge and comfy, perfect for a restful night. I enjoyed the breakfast, especially the fresh fruit and pastries. I had some issues that need addressing. The lack of lift really made it hard to get my bags to the third-floor room. the air conditioning was quite noisy, which disrupted my sleep. On top of that, I noticed some plates being served in a rather unappealing way, like my fish on a wooden board. It felt off for such a nice place. I think with a few adjustments like improving the lift access and addressing the food presentation, this hotel could truly shine. I would consider returning but would definitely request a lower floor room next time.

The stay was quite enjoyable, with breathtaking views of the sea from our lovely room. The food at breakfast was fantastic, offering a range of delicious options from fresh pastries to a full cooked breakfast. The staff was accommodating, especially when we needed help with our dog. the stairs were a bit of a workout, especially after a day of exploring the nearby attractions like the Dartmouth Museum.

Fantastic location with friendly service
The location of the hotel is unbeatable, right in the heart of everything in Dartmouth, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Our room was tidy and clean, and we particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast options that offered plenty of choice. the uneven organization of our room made things slightly less convenient than expected.

Had an amazing weekend with friends! We enjoyed the gorgeous sea views and spent hours at the indoor play area, which kept us entertained. Breakfast options were great, whether you want something quick or a full spread. The staff was friendly and always eager to help. Ideal spot for a group getaway with plenty of spaces to chill.
The only downside was the long trek to the top floors with no lift, especially after a day out. Lots of stairs may be tough if you have heavy bags.

missingWrote a review on Aug 06noisy conditions
Noise from the stairway intrudes through open windows, making it hard to get a good night's sleep, especially in warmer weather. Some areas, like the bathrooms, show signs of neglect with mold on surfaces and poorly performed repairs that leave an impression of tiredness rather than luxury. While the view is stunning, the overall cleanliness and maintenance seem to need addressing.
